Terms of Service

Last updated 10 September 2026

1. Who we are

This website and The BISS Fellowship (the "Fellowship", the "Service") are operated by North Canaan AB, a company registered in Sweden ("North Canaan", "we", "us", "our"). By using this site or submitting the form, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2. What the Fellowship is

The Fellowship is a free, best-effort service that aims to connect members of the British International School of Stockholm alumni community with people who may be able to help them — for example with an introduction, a mentor, advice, or an opportunity. We may open a "case" to follow up on a request and communicate with you about it.

The Fellowship is a facilitator only. We are not a recruitment agency, an employer, an educational institution, or a provider of professional (legal, financial, career, or other) advice.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to submit the form or use a case link. By using the Service you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that it is yours to share.

4. Your submissions and comments

You are responsible for the content you submit — form entries, notes, and any comments you add through your private case link. You agree not to submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, infringing, deceptive, or that discloses another person's personal information without their permission.

You grant us permission to store and use the content you submit for the purpose of operating the Service and following up on your request. We may remove content or decline or close a request at our discretion.

5. Your private case link

If we open a case for you, we send you a private link containing a unique token. Anyone who holds that link can view the case and post comments, so keep it confidential and don't share or forward it. You are responsible for activity carried out through your link. If you believe it has been exposed, contact us and we can issue a new one.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including by attempting to gain unauthorised access to it, probing or enumerating case links, disrupting its operation, scraping it, or using it to send spam or to collect others' data. We may suspend or withdraw access to the Service, or to any case, if these Terms are breached.

7. No guarantee of outcome

We offer the Service on a reasonable-efforts basis and make no promise that we will find a match, make an introduction, respond within any particular time, or achieve any particular result. Any connection we facilitate is between you and the other person; we are not a party to, and are not responsible for, what follows from it.

8. Third-party services

We use third-party providers to run the Service (for hosting, data storage, and email delivery). Their handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for third-party websites or services that we may link to.

9. Intellectual property

The Fellowship name, the site's content, and its design are owned by North Canaan or used with permission, and may not be copied or reused without our consent, except for content you submit, which remains yours.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, North Canaan will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for any loss of opportunity, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time as the Fellowship grows; the date above shows when they were last changed. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, and any dispute relating to them or to the Service is subject to the jurisdiction of the Swedish courts. If you are a consumer, you may also have the right to bring proceedings in your country of residence, and mandatory consumer-protection laws of that country continue to apply.

14. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be sent to hello@north-canaan.com.
